Season finale...
SPOILER:

Felt a bit meh. I mean Jessica Lange's character having another evil son was quite a nice touch, but that kid grew up a bit quick for 3 years (looked more like 5 to me). And a lot of it in the middle felt a bit like padding. Its a shame it didnt have the hanging of the father near the end.

But not a bad series, very enjoyable in places, with a decent cast.

we just watched last 2 episodes and really enjoyed it. I think they did a really good job of trickle feeding ppl's back stories.

regarding spoiler above, it's a silly program to try and explain, as it has its own "rules" but

SPOILER:
in the womb, the baby grew quicker than normal, so maybe the kid did as well?

Looking forward to 2nd series, I deliberately haven't read much, all I know is the following which sounds good to me

SPOILER:
different location, different cast, which is a shame if no more Jessica Lange, but would be  a bit silly if every week was trying to get rid of a different family.

I guess that's a reason for it.

Like the idea of season 2 being all new too. Rather than string it all out.

I thoroughly enjoyed the series, although I can accept that it's an acquired taste.

I thought it was great and look forward to the next series....will be a shame if there is no Jessica Lange but it say on the net that there will be some of the same actors playing different roles so fingers crossed.

RIP Julie & Maisie

Jessica Lange was pure evil in this, superb stuff.  How you imagine ex-Cheerleaders to be...

SPOILER:
Thought the final death was too quick and almost throwaway, so the final episode was almost an anti-climax but it worked in the end with a sort of happy ever after that resolved the family's problems and shut out all the evil ones, so makes sense to come back with an all-new story.

Jessica Lange will return to 'American Horror Story' -
http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/03/01/jessica-lange-will-return-to-american-horror-story-exclusive/

Quote:
“We have designed the second season of American Horror Story completely around her character,” Murphy told EW exclusively.
But she won’t reprise her memorable role in the new season, which resumes production in late July for a mid-October return to FX. She’ll play someone entirely new, promises Murphy.

Ooooh fantastic! She was a major highlight of the series for me.
