It was the day they finished filming episode 13 (whole season finale) on November 18th.

It would make sense on a narrative level to have them stay there a little longer. Herschel is unlikely to want to leave, nor are Rick and Lori given her circumstances.

That said, as mentioned above, Norman Reedus (Daryl) tweeted that the second half of the season is full of action and will get quite bloody.

Well if they stay at the farm something will need to happen as a zombie show with no zombies won't be very good at all!
In fairness I like how the show has concentrated on the characters and the horror of survival in such a harsh world rather than just gore. Sure it still has its fair share of gore but the focus is really on the characters which I really like. I compare it in that respect to The Sopranos which also focused on the characters at its core rather than just the mafia stuff.

The third season order has been expanded to 16 episodes.

I wouldn't be surprised if Breaking Bad started its final run a little later, leading up to Christmas with TWD season 3 starting January 2013. That would definitely be preferable to a sodding great break in the middle, especially if they are doing the Woodbury arc next year.

Episode 8 broke the show's ratings record again, this time with 8.1 million viewers. I don't know how they have the cheek to cut back the budget so much when it is so successful.

SPOILER:
The bar scene was pretty great
Women drivers Grinning

Btw, my speculations/predictions on the previous page are looking very likely now.

Episode 9, Definitely a better episode still too much dialogue but more action than the first half of the season episodes.

I love these visual effects breakdowns. Some are obvious, some are amazing...
