£150 million !!!???!!!!???!!!!
Good deal but a wee bit like David Murray taling up almost all of the hoardings at Ibrox years ago. Simply put, by folks far more financially astute than me, by doing this he could write off millions of £'s in tax. Might not be the same but suspiciously similiar .

I'm surprised that no one has commented on the Man Utd v Liverpool game yet.

Suarez is a disgrace, says Ferguson
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson condemns Liverpool striker's handshake refusal, saying it 'could have caused a riot
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish said in an interview: "I think you're bang out of order to blame Luis Suarez for anything that happened here today."
Ferguson
"I couldn't believe Suarez refused Evra's handshake," he said. "You saw the referee [Phil Dowd]. He didn't know what to do. It was a terrible start to the game and it created a terrible atmosphere.
"Racism is an important issue and football has come a long way since the days of bananas being thrown at John Barnes."
The United boss believes Evra "kept his dignity" by offering to shake Suarez's hand, but did not condone the Frenchman's post-match celebrations.
Liverpool should 'get rid off' Suarez - Ferguson
"Evra shouldn't have jumped in front of Suarez in celebration at the end," he added. "He shouldn't have done that."
I was amazed Rio Ferdinand wasn't at least booked for a real leg breaker, the only reason it didn't connct was because he's slower than he thinks he is. I've seen red cards for a lot less![]()

Ferdinand leg breaker?
You mean the slide tackle at end of first half where he won the ball?
Okay I know there is a difference of opinion in that Suarez may have won the ball (after seeing replays I don't understand how Redknapp can still think a foul personally, but each to their own) but haven't heard anywhere calling it a leg breaker.
Unless we are talking about a separate incident?
Re: Suarez Evra.
Suarez is a ****ing idiot.
Evra was just a childish taking it down to that level at the end.
Dalglish was good in the after match interview as recently I think he has been highly defensive and one minded in interviews (including on topics like Carroll), but today he was good and looked to defuse the situation and only the back end was provoked by Geoff Shreeves really pushing.
Ferguson should have just said that Suarez was an idiot or whatever if he felt he had to comment and left it at that. He should just have praised Evra as he did and said you saw Suarez I am sure you all have made up your own minds etc.
The whole interview isn't as bad as it seems in sound bytes, as he just slated Suarez. When questioned about Evra he said I don't know as I was already around the tunnel. When they said Evra was celebrating by Suarez at the end to provoke, Ferguson replied well if that's what he did he shouldn't be doing that.
As for the match, Utd deserved to win, was actually surprised couple of hours ago as realised that even with that "old" midfield we had out that doesn't have the legs we didn't actually make a sub?
Not starting Bellamy was Liverpool's biggest mistake.
Last 20mins Liverpool were probably the better team and it was a nervous finish to the game.

Not going to comment on any of the Suarez/Evra stuff 'cos everyone has their own opinion etc..
Ferguson's 'moral' checklist seems a bit wayward though. Yeah, call him an idiot or whatever you feel but to say he shouldn't play again or should be sold is ridiculous. I mean, over the years... Kung Fu kick a fan - ok, keep him. Miss training/drugs test, ok, keep him. Shag your brother's wife for years - ok, keep him. Shag a reality tv star for ages - ok, keep him. Shag a prostitute granny - ok, keep him. Don't shake a hand (that was actually dropped a little as you approach?) - sell him, he's a disgrace... Get a dodgy hair transplant - ok, keep him. ![]()
Anyway, onto the match..
Can't recall a leg breaker either. The Ferdinand tackle could be seen from either point of view but the ref was poorly placed to know either way.
As soon as I saw the starting line-up I feared the worst and really felt it would be worse than it was. A negative line-up to start with - and Carroll, after playing quite well last week, must have been really disappointed to be dropped again. Kuyt really is awful now and should never have started. Bellamy should definitely have started too.
Utd were far, far away the better side and should have put the game out of reach. Once we got the goal from nowhere we started to play a bit but didn't really deserve to have gotten anything out of the game.
And Spearing....no words really. And he starts games. ![]()

I tell you what on Spearing, he was anonymous on the pitch as I hadn't even realised he was on the pitch, BUT for the goal it was a bit of a suicide ball from Enqriue I thought when I saw on MOTD last night (didn't see it replayed again, but on that showing I thought actually he's probably hard done by).
He's not good enough though.
It's mental really because seen as you had about 500 midfielders when the first ball was kicked this season, before you finally managed to finish the clear out.
Injury to one player and you have a real crisis in midfield.
Me and my friend were discussing and saying, it's weird you have been sticking to a 4-4-2 so rigidly when clearly Gerrard/Adam etc isn't a good partnership for that role.
The players you have at the moment screams for a 4-3-3/4-5-1, but with Suarez/Bellamy playing the wings with Carroll in the middle. That way 2 of Gerrard/Adam/Henderson can potentially play with someone playing the holding role.
Finally playing that formation yesterday, didn't really work with Kuyt out wide and Suarez in the middle, which isn't a role suited to get the best out of him.
Downing has obviously done nothing, but in fairness to him a "proper" winger playing this season with Suarez/Bellamy being the main strikers who spend a lot of their time outside the area and out wide he doesn't have much to aim at. The same for Carroll as he's supposed to be nodding down for the strikers, but they are stuck out in wide positions, which makes sense for them to play in a 4-3-3 where they are expected to be out wide and play deep more often.

I never saw a replay but it looked bad to me. end of.
Re Fergie. I don't recall any manager saying Man Utd should chuck out a player after their many transgresses.

I thought he was really out of order saying Liverpool should get rid of a player for what happened yesterday when he has let slide much worse from his own players, i.e. the SJ quote above.
Alan Green on BBC Radio Five Live seems really p***ed at Ferguson ![]()

We either condone rascism or we don't. The FA have just effectively forced the resignation of their manager for condoning it so why aren't they stepping back in here?

Because he refused to shake somebody's hand (later apologised for), does that make him a racist? Or a selective one?

You know, what your two teams need is a great big pizza fight after full time.
That usually solves everything.
