Good news for Arsenal? Barca fail to pay wages, have to borrow money!

Hopefully that means they can't afford Fabregas.

Don't be surprised if a friendly Spanish bank or other financial organisation offer to buy him for the club.
Things work differently over there.

For what it's worth I don't think Cesc will go this season. I think Wengers probably had a 'Ronaldo' type of conversation with him and we've got him for one more year.
Providing he's professional enough (which I think he is) to play up to his full potential for that period thats a big plus.

So 4.20 this afternoon we play a 'proper team' for the first time this season.
I think we can call AC Milan a proper team can't we.
A chance to get a look how the team is shaping up for the real games, starting on the 15th with Liverpool.
Maybe Chamakattack can get a real goal to add to his pen to kick start his Arsenal career.

It's on Sky Sports 3 if anyones not yet noticed.

Yeah I think thats a proper team, or at least a team which will have as many first team players as Arsenal will be fielding.

I think he's professional enough to concentrate on the team for the season but Wenger does seem to have left him a public, open invite to make a statement so lets see if he does.

I was impressed with the two new boys yesterday. Chamakattack scored from a nice soft through pass from Arshavin and made quite a few unselfish moves which opened up opportunities for others. Koscielny looks to be quite calm under pressure good sense of position and a nice eye for a first pass out when he gets it back.
Looking good so far.
Even Flappy didn't flap in goal.

I thought Almunia was off somewhere else for sure, yet he's allegedly playing today. Shocked

And here is the Fabregas statement:

http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/cesc-fabregas-statement

Quote:
"Firstly I would like to apologise to all the Arsenal fans for not speaking sooner about my future but I have not known what I was going to do until this moment.

"I cannot deny that joining a club like Barcelona was not an attractive move for me. This was the club where I learnt my football, it is my home town where my friends and family are and a club where I have always dreamed of playing. There are not many players in this world who would not want to play for Barcelona.

"I have had many conversations with Arsène Wenger both in person and over the phone over the last few months and although the content of those conversations will remain private, the conclusion is that Barcelona have had two formal offers rejected by Arsenal.

"I am a professional and I fully understand that it is Arsenal's prerogative not to sell me.

"I owe a lot to the Club, manager and the fans and I will respect their decision and will now concentrate on the new season ahead with Arsenal.

"I can assure all the fans that now the negotiations have ended I will be 100 percent focused on playing for Arsenal.

"I am an Arsenal player and as soon as I step out on to the pitch, that is the only club I will be thinking about.

"I am looking forward to the start of the season and putting this speculation behind me."
