What I don't understand with your transfer moves is the fact that Insua and Aquilani have gone on loan.

Surely you're not that short on squad spaces with the new rules?

I can only assume that Aquilani has gone in favour of getting his value bumped up for a sale next summer?

Looks like Babel turned down West Ham aswell which killed a Carlton Cole deal. From my point of view you've lucked out there.

Babel can play on the left or right wing or up front if needs be.  If you can get him to knuckle down he could be a very useful player.  Okay you're short up front and wouldn't want to be relying on Babel or Ngog, but surely the answer is just to put Babel or someone else on the right wing and use Kuyt upfront again in his natural position?

I was desperate for that to happen last season.

No offense, was muted over on the Celtic thread that we should go for Hodgson and i said i didnt rate him, one (very) good season with a smaller club and he is experienced but i didnt want him at ours and i have no doubt every Liverpool fan reckons they are one of the worlds biggest clubs and he frankly isnt in that league, I fear for you this season and that gives me no pleasure at all to say.

Without having seen tonight's game, wasn't this whole squad Rafa signings, except for Brad Jones and Danny Wilson.

There was £30million's worth of Rafa signings out there tonight. The same as last season Liverpool have a pretty good starting eleven, but no depth in the squad (although admitidely the starting eleven aren't in top form at the moment).

Were Liverpool horrendous then or what tonight?

Sc***horpe had ludicrous amount of chances against Utd (and quite a lot of good ones aswell). Think at one point in the second half the commentator said that they had had 18shots and 10 on target, whilst Utd had 6shots on target and scored 5. Utd were winning 5-1.

Fair play most of their chances on target were good chances aswell, rather than pea rollers from 30yards or anything like that.

Pretty much, But that's just my point we have to rebuild BIG time however with no money for transfers, our best players playing s***e & very little on the youth front coming through it doesn't look good for some time yet, Sad

If left to it Hodgson will do a pretty good job of stabilising you but unfortunately a large number of supporters are not going to be happy at what level that stabilisation occurs.

I think your in danger of going the Newcastle route and looking too much at what you were than the reality of here and now.
Little is going to change until the ownership and debt are sorted out. Even then a new owner will probably want their own man in to replace Hodgson. So rebuilding wont even start till then.
