so...

i've got a Fuji Finepix HS20EXR

just ordered 3 filter lenses, and i'm also thinking of getting a decent wide
angle lense too.

haven't got many bits and pieces for it yet apart from a HAMA travel tripod
which was a subscription freebie.

*edit* can't link the HS20 webpage to the text above?

Canon EOS 300D (hardly used tbh) with a kit 18-55 and a Sigma 70 to 300 DG APO Macro lens
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS42 compact kept in my bag of tricks for the taxi and used reasonably regularly.

Pentax K20D body
Pentax AF540-FGZ flash
Sigma 50mm DG HSM
Tamron AF 90mm Di SP

Oh and two cheap tripods, three cheap light stands, a couple of really old but decent flashes, cheap radio triggers, etc.

Now here's the essential question.
Do you have the kit to take pictures or are you just a kit junkie that trawls all the shops and exhibitions for the latest Doo dah.

Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's 'it' seems weird and scary

My most interesting kit is the couple of Arca Swiss 5x4" cameras I still have from when I was a still-life photographer. A world apart from modern digital cameras and capable of absolutely stunning quality. If I were able to afford a digital camera back I'd still be using them. Way too much hassle to use sheet film.

I think we all know one or two of them in just about any pursuit you can think of not just photography, fishing springs instantly to mind.

Initially used ageing Sinars at college (Sinar Ps I think?). They swapped them for some really excellent Horsemans. Could never afford Horseman or decent Sinars so Arca Swiss had to do. Not bad cameras tho.

I was really spoilt with the excellent kit we had at college including really powerful Bowens flash packs, Mamiya RZ67s and all automated film/paper processing. It was a real shock when I had to leave that lot behind...
