Just two security updates apparently, be interesting if it mysteriously fixes people's other problems on earlier models.

Apparently it fixes the security that allows you to jailbreak your Iphone online by just visiting Jailbreakme.com on your iphone.
I actually did it last night and was easiest jailbreak yet as no effort required at all.

The problems I had with iOS4 on my iPhone 3G are well documented. Thankfully I was able to downgrade back to OS 3. Therefore the chances of me upgrading back up to iOS4, regardless of what version and what they promise, are very slim.
These last few months have taught me that Apple lie if nothing else.
Are there any issues with updating the 3GS?
Have not done Sarah's iPhone as heard the news about there being problems but didn't look in to it any further so not sure which models were affected.
All the best
Gerald.
Shameless website plug
3GS is fine Gerald.
Updated my old one (now owned by the wife) and that's running fine.
Has anyone else installed this on a 3G handset, cos since installing it my 3g's been running perfectly ok, & as fast as it was on os3
I installed it the day it became available, but waited to see if it went tits up after a couple of days use, which is what happened after the last update......

Did you do an update, or restore?

did a full restore, it's been the same pattern every time since ios4 came out, it'll run ok for a couple of days, then start bugging out, even crashing apps like the audio player etc
it's like theres an internal cach of memory that slowly fills up, then like a pc thats got a full hard drive & no virtual memory it'll start crawling along... if i restore it again i'm sure it'll be fine for a few days then it'll happen again..
there are only a couple of niggles with the HTC desire, once i get them worked out i reckon it's bye bye iphone.. & it's a shame, because when it's working properly the iphones quite a lot better than android, even though the desire has a better screen than the 3g, reading text & manipulating the browser is far easier on the 3g.. but i reckon apple have washed there hands of the "older" hardware..
