Also I'm now out of trouble with the missus, she is actually excited about it now.

Well the weather was fantastic, Larry Graham was great but kind of too short (I think at that point they were behind on the running time), Tinnie Tempah was ok, just not my kind of thing (rap with a pre-recorded sample for the chorus). But at least he had a real backing band to accompany the sampled stuff. Still rather out of place in the line up I think.

Prince was amazing, well he's always amazing. Did a lot of dancing, loads of solos, and a set list with his biggest hits along with a couple of covers (he seems to always do Play That Funky Music now). Still one of the best live acts ever, sorry Jules but the Foo Fighters (best gig of the year so far) got topped. Confused

Great atmosphere, only marred by the 1hr10 it took to get out of the car park, but hay the parking was free and we spent all that time just listening to more Prince so other than the ever increasing need to use the bathroom I don't think we really cared, well I didn't anyway.

And whilst my geordie mate went to get a refund on his beer cup, ("aye damn reet man, 3 quid, that's like 10 tabs"), a rather drunk lesbian complimented myself and my (female) friend's hats, and then said she couldn't find her girlfriend and had no phone signal, and tried to get both of us to go back to her tent for a shag. If my geordie mate was with us he'd have gone in a flash.

Good to hear he was on form. Looking forward to seeing him in Dublin at the end of the month.

Hoping he might be a bit extra up for it aswell, due to all the controversy over the cancelled gig "so owes Dublin one".

Was at the Foo Fighters last night and they were absolutely unbelievable. Special guests of John Paul Jones and Seasick Steve were brilliant. Was expecting Alice Cooper due to the night before, so when he announced Seasick Steve we went nuts Grinning (Would have been happy with Alice Cooper, but not a massive fan, so Seasick Steve was improvement for us).

He cannot possibly be more up for it than yesterday, I think only the curfew stopped him. But then I've never seen him put in a lack lustre performance, you are going to have a great time! It will feel like one big fantastic party, you'll dance, you'll sing, you'll wave your hands and clap a lot. And you won't want it to end.

He is the master showman, even the most cynical audience will struggle to resist his charms. And I wish I could play guitar even a 10th as good as he does.

I think he was really up for it Sunday because he hadn't played in England since 2007 when the O2 opened? So he had a deliriously happy excited crowd. There were quite a few moments when he looked joyfully taken aback by how up for anything the crowd where.

I would expect the same in Dublin, as it'll have been longer since he was last there?

Had forgot to post back afterwards.

He was awesome in Dublin last weekend, was well up for it and did seem quite genuine with his apolgies etc.

Did a greatest hits set and although he did a 2 hours 15mins set which included 4 encores I was slightly disappointed in as much as the curfew was 10.45 and he left the stage for the final time about 10.30.  Slight inconvenience though and considering the gig was in Malahide which is a little village outside Dublin, the public transport was ludicrously well organised.

Seen such smaller events at larger stations be really badly organised, but basically we walked from 3 rows back behind the pit after giving it 3minutes after what appeared to be the last song and walked to the station and had to que for 2minutes and then walked straight onto a train and even got a seat. Even when it filled up, it was less busy than the one on the way in!

Loved the gig though.

Actually got a load of good quality videos aswell off the net aswell, even though the Prince police have been all over getting them down as soon as on Youtube or anything.

Glad you had a great time. Happy

One thing I noticed at Hop Farm compared to O2, he did far more moving and dancing this time, I guess his hip operation was further behind him!

I see he opened with Gold, I love that track and the album. I think it's his last great album, everything after that was just really mediocre. But hay, very very few bands have managed that level of output for so long, let alone one guy, so I forgive him.

Well that and he's still the best live act on the planet.
