Our old Sammys LCD went on the blink this week do we invested in a budget 3D system. We got a Bush 42" 1080p 3D LCD and Bush 3D Bluray player from Argos for £420. They do another Bush package for £599 and they seem to have given me the tv from the second deal for the price of the first. Yeah for me😄.
I downloaded the sample files for a couple of 3D movies and I've ran into a Problem. Both the TV and Bluray player have USB slots and I also have my Cyclone MKV player connected. The TV supports NTFS but can't read any of the movie files that all have DTS, so the documentary samples I have work fine but the movie samples don't. The Bluray player plays them all without a problem but only supports FAT32 which limits me to 4gb files. The Cyclone player, which reads NTFS and FAT32 has so far only played 2 of the 6 movie samples I've tried, the other 4 play audio only.
Is there (hopefully) an easier solution than splitting larger files for the 4gb limit of the BR player or remixing the DTS audio into something the TV can read?.
Regards
Bryan
I found a fix. A free app called MKVmerge GUI split a 12gb mkv into 4gb parts in 7 minutes. That i can live with.
Happy Days

Do you have the newCyclone MK 2+. I bought one recently for around £24-00 & unlike the earlier model (that I also have) it seems to play all files.
Mine is the MK 1 MKV Enclosure. I never bothered dropping a HDD in though, i usually connected the 500gb portable i have. That is up until i bricked it last night trying to do a firmware update via USB, it crashed before it really began but not before wiping the previous flash. Now all i have is a black screen displaying 'Cyclone MKV Enclosre'. Some googleing will be required tomorrow morning i think.

i had one of their cyclone live adaptors, didn't keep it long 'cos it wasn't the most
reliable of devices tbh. when it worked, it worked well, but when it wanted to throw
a hissy fit, it would take five minutes to connect to my network.... and don't even get
me started on it's wireless capabilities!!
bought an acer revo for my media streaming and it's ****ing brilliant. full stop.
not sure if it will do 3D SBS files though, will have a go at ripping a couple of my 3D BR's
when i get my BR rewriter.

I got my daughter a Revo a couple years ago but i'm not sure how well that would handle MKVS. It has HDMI out but is only running on a single core Atom with 1gb Ram.
I'm considering trying the main PC with it later. I'd need 2m of Optical Audio cable for the surround and a 2m DVI-HDMI cable. Before i buy these though can any one confirm that the DVI-HDMI cable can carry a 1080p signal.

Even the xbmc iPlayer addin is fine with BBC HD whereas through the browser lots of PC's struggle. ![]()
