Cheers Ste, I'll take a look at it.

EDIT: Not a great start. After making the bootable USB stick it installs, then fails to launch.
More investigation needed!

how you getting on with xbmc miles?

i managed to get around my remote control issue by buying a "FLIRC" usb adaptor.
bloody brilliant, recorded button presses from my MCE remote on my win7 lappy then
plugged the flirc into my xbmc machine and hey presto, working remote without the need
to use the wireless keyboard.

much easier than ****ing about with lirc Grinning

So it just worked straight off once you plugged it into XMBC live?

Might get involved on that, tried my Harmony learning Xbox 360 and Windows media player controls which never worked with mine so I'm still just assuming the mouse, but a control would be nice (a lot of the different skins don't work with a mouse either).

hi mate,

yes... really, really simple. ordered it from the Flirc website (california) and it arrived just
over a week later.

downloaded the latest software build (0.97 iirc) and installed it onto my laptop. ran the program
and inserted the flirc. once it's been recognised, you have 4 control options.. simple, boxee, xbmc
and one other (can't remember which).

you then have an on screen keyboard (obviously i chose the xbmc one) and mapped the keyboard
buttons to the remote. save the file (on your windows machine, for backup) and plug the flirc into the
revo (i chose the USB port by the on/off button). switch on the revo and away you go.

the only button i can't seem to get to work is the "C" button, the one that allows you to bring up the
context menu for updating the library. it's no big deal though, because i only update mine probably
twice a week.

everything else works fine, play pause, fast forward etc. the arrow buttons also work as the arrow
buttons do with the keyboard rather than mimicking mouse movements.

well recommended mate.

Pretty happy with it (when plugged in via Ethernet).
But that's an issue out in the garage where I don't have enough space on the 4-plug to use the powerline adapter, lights, laptop power & running machine!

So I just dumped what I wanted on a USB drive and watched via that.
Works a treat for what I want.
