Just noticed that my sky box in the bedroom has died during the night (no power), It's about 4 years old however i recently subscribed to multi room putting me under another 12 months contract so would the box be covered ?.

Don't think subscribing to multiroom gives you a warranty on 4 year old boxes.
So I would say, no, you're not covered.
Your choices are fourfold;
1/ Phone SKY, make a fuss and try to get free repair
2/ Phone SKY, pay £65 call out fee and get new box
3/ Repair yourself via someone like 'Satcure', using better components than standard
4/ Buy used box off ebay
Sorry....

IIRC you aren't taking on a new contract when you add multiroom, and if they say you are, tell them to shove the entire lot as they didn't supply new hardware for the multiroom subscription and yer going to Cable.
Or make RJS an offer... either way is good.
(if you do make him an offer, get some cable, run it from yer LNB back to the box and tell sky you want the multiroom sub to give yuo Sky+ epg too
)
