Well I'm partially there. Without a DVD in the player - eject the tray

1). Press Setup ensure you are showing 'General' tab
2). Enter 1389

At this point a list comes up with all sorts of info. At the bottom is Region Code 2. But I'm stumped as to how to change it. I've tried all different key combinations I can think of.

any help, i would be really gratefull, got loads of region 1 dvds cant play them lol

I have a TV/DVD from Argos the Mikomi P1471.

When I found this post the replies helped me.

Instructions:
Eject tray,
Press setup,
Enter 1389 on keypad. The screen changes at the bottom is the Region number set at 2.
Press the up or down arrow to change this number to 0.

It is now multi region.

I have bought Argos value range DS-306a DVD player for a friend for Christmas.

Unfortunately, what works for the P1471, does not work with this. You get to the screen with the region number at the bottom (2), but none of the keys do anything to change it.

So I'm stumped.

For my P1471 the following worked so might work for you.

Power on and open the tray
press setup
press next four times this is the button marked >>
you should see a '2' appear in the top right corner
press the right arrow > next to the enter button till the 2 changes to 255
press setup twice

sorry to be a pain, I've tried it but it didn't work. When I press setup with the tray open, I get the language setup menu and when i go down (wont go up from there), i get tv and parental lock  and the like but no general . So when i enter the code nothing happens and i don't get a list with the region number at the bottom . I'm sure it must be me being stupid, but do you see what i do wrong? Please if you have ideas, what else we can try we would really appreciate it if you'd post them. Thanks very much indeed.

Hi there, did the instructions work for you in the end? We've been trying for ages and now found out that probably the problem is, that when we go into the setup page,we're not in general and dont seem to be able to get there either. and with the language page that opens, the dvd player does not accept the code so we dont get a page with the region code at the bottom or anywhere . Can you help? how can we get to the right tap? Got loads of US dvds and no chance to watch them Thanks a lot mate
