anyone got a philips hack???

hi folks, have been scouring the net looking for a hack for the philips DVDR3480 and can't find anything. Is it because it is new or unhackable or something? Hopefully someone can help me out!

Cheers from Ireland...

Try This

1. Switch unit ON

2. Open dvd drawer

3. select DVD on remote control

4. press 0086000 followed by OK

5. switch unit off and back on again

Thanks Hackeroonie.

I had seen this one before and tried it but it doesn't seem to work. I have cable TV running through the DVD player too... does this affect it? I tried unplugging everything but even when I enter the 008600 digits it just searches for 008 channel and then says it can't find it. Should I reset the player or something?

Thanks again - have seen you responding to numerous posts. You're a good man/woman!

Try it this way

1- Power on the player
2- Be sure there is no disc in the tray
3- Wait for "NO DISC" display on the VFD
4- Enter "0086000" with the remote, then press "OK"

Have tried again and still no joy. It still seems to search for the channel - 08 or 60, depending on how fast i type the numbers. not the most responsive of remotes perhaps.

couple of dumb questions:

1. should the numbers actually be coming up on the screen as i type them. i'm assuming it's not like the setup menu where there is a place for typing these in but rather the numbers when entered in this sequence just trigger some sort of secret override facility?

2. is it okay to be using the philips remote or do i need to buy one of the multi remotes referred to elsewhere?

thanks. am not usually a techno-imbecile so please forgive my questions.
