I just purchased a Philips DVP 3040/12 for my daughter. Is is possible to make this work as a multi region player?

There are 2 known Hacks for this Player ...depends on Firmware

Turn Player on
Using Remote Control Press Set Up
Using Remote Control Scroll to Preference (Just Highlight it do NOT Select it)
Using Remote Control Press 1 3 8 9 3 1
Select Region Required

Or

Turn Player On
Open Disk Tray (Leave Open)
Using Remote Control Press 9 9 9 9 0

Neither method works on my device. Just bought it. Don't have "Preferences" under the menu anyway.

Second method does not produce any result.

Are there others in the same situation?

Please help, if you know of any other method

Additional info:

Model No: DVP3040 / 12
Prod No. starts with VN2G ...
Made in Hungary
