can any body help

i used to copy DVD movies (all types even latest ones which are protected) on to a VHS cassette on the VHS player from my JVC DVD player with a simple scart connection.

i swapped the VHS player for a liteon DDA100X thinking it would do the same thing,-as its my JVC which is able to take off any protection on the original DVD movie,

sadly this is not the case. when i tried to use the liteon DDA100X it shows a message for protected content (not allowing me to copy the DVD)

is there any way around this? can any one help

the only way i know of is to copy them on your PC using software like Anydvd + CloneDVD (dvdshrink,dvddecrypter + ripit4me will also do it) . AnyDVD will get rid of the copy protection and makes it region free.

here's a region free hack for your unit

1. Enter set up on remote
2. Scroll down and highlight 'exit'
3. While exit is highlighted enter 2,9,6,0
4. Press enter
5. A hidden menu pops up and you can select any region or "Region Free" option.
6. For exit press "Setup" button again.

thank you very much. i already found that region code hack( posted by cbeveridge) from a different forum. but thanks any way, appreciate it.

also i have downloaded a liteon smart firmware hack 1.5b and a liteon firmware thanx to mr wizard. ( the auther. thanks) this shuld take off the macrovision protection off original dvd's.

does anybody know if there are any problems with this method which could damage the liteon stand alone unit. i just want to make sure before i try it as i am a beginner

also does it not matter, to carry out this method on a allready region free unit (i did the region hack on it yesterday)

please help.

hi sorry for the late response.

i got the latest firmware from liteon website.
and the hack from http://ilohacker.tripod.com/

i havent yet tried it yet. i am looking for the firmware from liteon again (i deleted it after i copyed the hack on cd)

i cant find the original firmware from liteon (i want to try that first, my unit has got some sort of problem, the recorded dvds keep on skipping) i think there is a problem with there website.

NOTE i havent tried the hack yet.

can anybody let me know if its my browser (doubt it) or ther website.
