So...
Got home from work about 5.30 tonight. Some "kind soul" had parked right over the drop kerb of my driveway. It took me a lot of turns to get it on to my own tarmac. There were no other cars parked near so she had the choice of the whole road basically and the straight she parked on could have fitted another 1 and a half cars in front of her. My wife who was at home when she noticed this lady had parked there said there were no other cars there at the time of her parking either (about 2 hours before)
About 7.30 I heard a car door slam outside so i quickly popped outside to see who it was. It was indeed an older lady, in her 50's, greasy hair, glasses. In the car with some guy with a baseball cap on and hoody up. He stared a me as I walked along the front of my house. I pretended to move my wheely bin around whilst i eye balled him. He carried on looking. The drove off. No idea who she was but I think sometimes I have seen that car in the street and she/he doesn't live in the 5 house vicinity in the street near my house.
So...the dilemma.
About 30 minutes later the same car pulls up again. Parks in the exact same spot (almost - this time i'd say she was a little bit more over my driveway) still no other cars parked near...I didn't see her get out but when i looked outside i noticed that she hadn't shut her car door properly...the interior light was on. I presumed she was just popping into see someone (I really don't think she lives here) I've just looked again - the car is still there...the light is still on...this is clearly going to drain her battery on the car and in minus 7/8 tonight it surely won't start...
Do i go find the owner and tell her or treat this as karma?
I am of course smiling as i write this...
P.s i don't need to use my car tomorrow if I can't get it off the drive...![]()
I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which i'm dying are the best i've ever had.
Reminds me of when I lived in Busy London surbia, and had parking wars on the street. Bumper to bumper stuff to claim their little piece of street.
I decided to put in a driveway to get out of the bumper scraping going on, and of course the ignorant types had to park across the drive and walk away. Lucky for me next doors neighbour had a land rover and would obligingly push such offending cars back with a slight shove to the bumper with a front tow bar off his diveway or mine.
I would never ever park across someones drive like that, but there are such arrogant and ignorant types out there now.
Anyway, I had enough of the busy street I lived in, where street damage to car bumpers were rife, either intenentionaly or just banged out the way, so that was one of the rasons I have since moved out to the country and only have rants at slow tractors, he he.
PS..My major reason for moving out was that I feared my teenagers getting roped into drug life, being in the inner city.
If the door's not locked, wait until 2am (put a pair of gloves on), open the door and let the handbrake off...
I accept no responsibility for the ramifications of any suggestions I may make.

Unless the guy in the hoodie looked intimidating, I'd have been inclined to go say a word with them. "Er excuse me, did you realise you were blocking my drive? It took me ages to get my car in earlier."
Unless they are doing it on purpose because they have a hidden agenda, I feel sure it would have cured the problem.
As it is, now you'll probably get a meek knock at the door to see if you can jump start them! lol
I would have said something too and have done when the same happens here.
I also believe (deffo up here but think it's nationwide) that if someone parks over a dropped kerb then they can be removed by calling the cops.
Obviously dependant on the person or officers calling to the incident you may have a bit of a strain on your hands but even if they turn up and just explain to the offending driver what they're doing wrong it might be enough to prevent it happening again.

"There's that word again... is there a problem with the Earth's gravitational pull in the future?"
If they do it again, be polite explain you are in and out all the time (tell them you are on call or something), and ask them to park a little further along... dont get confontational.
If you make too much of an issue, no doubt one morning you will go to your car to find it scratched or covered in paint stripper!
So long and the car is taxed, tested and insured, then they are not committing any offence... you have said you can get in, so presumeably you can get out... this sort of thing is how neighbour disputes start!
