Still nothing here which, for me, is a blessing.
Kinda odd really that this thread was started by me expecting it to shut the city down at the time of the initial post, it faded, then there were all these warnings n stuff resulting in all you Suvverners playing with yer sledges, cameras and having snowball fights while it stayed clear up here!

More snow tonight apparently! Not sure how much London is going to get, BBC website (I find navigating the weather since the redesign a nightmare) I think says none, but if I view the weather map and drag the timeline it looks like some, and The Weather Channel app on my phone says 1-2 inches overnight.

I'm a little worried our 3YO will get a winter without experiencing sledging for the first time.
She was too young last winter.
Quite incredible.
Damned shame too.

It makes a change for us to have it down south, and not you up there!

Just back from a short week holiday break to the Lake District and it was ICELOCKED.

I mean last Saturday the snows fell for two days in a row, so you could scrunch around in hill walking boots ok, but Monday onwards was total ice havoc.

The council there is on personel cutbacks and there was not many guys to grit the pavements. Cars were rolling back down the icy hills, and all the Chinese tourists were out taking photos of the chaos

By Wednesday and Thursday the ice was pilling on ice and you could not see my car as it was now an icecube with stalagtights hanging off the bonnet. I mean it was like the ice was sprayed on at least a quarter of an inch thick all over.

There was no way we were going up those frozen hills, so we had to take refuge in the warm pubs and drink real ale in front of the coal fire instead.

I bet due to these cutbacks, the Lakes A&E departments were full of broken limbs and brusing.

Anyway, we managed to head south and get home ok and not going back north for a while till the winter is finished.

Its snowing in Bexhill, Sussex this morning...proper great big giant snow flakes and settling fast HappyHappyHappy

However, this will probably mean I'm stuck with toothache for a few days as I don't think its worth getting the car out of the sheet of ice the carpark will be tomorrow to go and mum won't be able to get over to babysit even if I thought it was worth it Sad
