One hell of an Italian Cruse line captain !

Well we all know by now about the Costa Concodia sinking.

But what about Captain Schettino, is he a coward or a Hero ?.

Quotes like this are in the papers.....

Heres a good one.
'I only left because I FELL into lifeboat when ship listed suddenly as I was trying to help'

    • 'I didn't even have a lifejacket because I had given it to one of the passengers'
    • 'All of a sudden the boat listed 60-70 degrees, I got trapped and ended up in one of the lifeboats'
    • Transcripts show coastguard demanded he 'Get back on board, damn it' after abandoning ship.
    • He handles ships like he's driving a Ferrari, claims colleague, calling Schettino 'a daredevil'

But consider this, someone gave the order to run the ship to shallow water as it was tilting, and if not, it could have turned turtle in deep water and a 'Possideon adventure' would have occured, trapping thousands in an upside down ship, and end up with most likely as many dead.

So will we find out eventually as the truth unfolds whether he is Hero or coward ?

My own thoughts on the subject, is that the captain should be the last to abandon ship.

It's just natural to do something like this though.  It's like me steering my car to the hard shoulder on a motorway when a tyre blows out rather than letting the car stop in the middle of the motorway.  I've potentially saved the lives of several people in cars behind me by doing so.  Does not make me a hero!

It's not a matter of opinion, it's maritime Law. It's the reason he was arrested in the first place.

He was a prick, and as it turns out, he was showing off to a bint he'd invited onto the bridge

That's her on the left.

Oh it was in the Mail.
I believe every word.

The veracity of our gallant press is unimpeachable, just ask the poor sod who lived next door to that murdered estate agent.

Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's 'it' seems weird and scary

I phoned the local model shop to see if they had a scale model of the Costa Concodia in stock. They had. So I asked them to put it to one side for me.

To be fair, a lot of the coverage of this captain has been one sided.

I'll get my coat.

Divers on the wreck found two scousers still by the bar.
They told the divers to sod of as they were on an all inclusive.
