This has turned into a bit of a 3D bashing thread, which I'm not against. I'm just glad that its not me missing out on something. 3D is clearly a let down for most people! Probably best we don't let James Cameron hear us say that!

Pretty sure James Cameron has got enough money from Avatar to not give two s***s.... Anyway...

I think 3D could be (and eventually will be) great, and it is being taken up by several directors who you would assume wouldn't typically be interested in such technological leaps. So unfortunately for those of you who don't like it, we're going to be seeing a lot more of it in the coming years. Plus with 3D TVs, Sky 3D... It's here to stay.

The biggest danger is that studios who are retro-fitting films with 3D, are risking killing off the technology before it really gets a chance to shine.

If anyone wants me to watch a 3D film, they'll have to pay me money.

Enough money to cover the costs of getting my eyeballs sharpened by laser earlier this year.

That's the only way I'll ever wear glasses again!

Because they like it/believe in it?
Or because they've been pressured to by studios/producers?

That may be the case with some films, for example Transformers 3 - Michael Bay repeatedly said he hates 3D and that the third film would be 2D... lo and behold, it's going to be in 3D.

On a related note, shares in Anadin are going to be sky high come next summer Winking

That said, I doubt any studio could force the likes of Spielberg, Scorsese and even Werner Herzog to make films in 3D, but they're all doing it. I won't be seeing another 3D film again though, no matter who directs it.

Really, NEVER?! Really Gareth Williams? Never ever going to watch any 3D film ever again? Hmmm
