In Bournemouth we have a dual carriageway. It runs from Ringwood into the Center of Bournemouth. It was built in the 70s & was 70MPH. In the 70s I would travel down it in 60s & 70s built cars, in perfect safety at even 80 MPH. There were no major crashes, especially allowing for the millions of people who use it. When 'cash cows' were brought in they moved the speed down from 70 MPH to 50 MPH. No less accidents & no more accidents but plenty of cash for the thieves. Now the stupid tossers have decided to put a section of this road down to 40 MPH. There have been massive protests but NO, the c***s have gone ahead. It is supposed to be a 6 month experiment. No doubt it will be hailed a success, then the rest will go down to it, so more cash for the c***s.

If I crash it's going to be because I was looking at my speedo and the fast lane on a Friday afternoon has all of a sudden dropped down to 10 mph and the middle lane is still flying along! Along with lorry drivers people who don't know how to use the break properly really annoy me when I'm driving as they are main reason we get this concertina effect on motorways!

The hackneyed bleat of the 'careful' driver.
Surely this is only a problem when you're trying desperately to stay juuust [sic] under the speed limit? Do yourself, and others a favour, and just drop down 5 or 10 miles per hour. That way, the worst that happens is your a few minutes later than normal.
Live a life you love, use a god you trust, and don't take it all too seriously

I would say if you crash in the time it takes you to check your speedo and look back, then you are too fast. ![]()
