I'm blaming you for not reading the small print then!
Should have looked before I leapt, instead of assuming you'd read the full details!

So....have you managed to try it out? If so, how was it?
I'd imagine it'll take a bit of getting used to at first.

you're not kidding... i was all over the place until i realised that i'd still got my "inverted" setting
on!! couldn't figure out wtf the reticule was going up when it should've been going down!!

i need to find a suitable surface to try and use it on, was using a white plastic chopping board
on my lap on the sofa with my feet upGrinning
looks like the rocket pro mousemat is the way to go, but these are quite expensive....

Chris, what mouse mat do you use, and what would you recommend?

it's a bit easier for me, as i have my ps3 connected to my 24" dell pc monitor, so i can use my pc's mouse pad (a Razor Goliath) but the splitfish actually came with a "stiff" mouse mat that you can use on your knee. But, i'm told you can actually use them just on your knee without a mouse mat, there are even reviews telling you what type of jeans work best lol...

personaly, if i where you, & couldn't use the desk, i would get a reasonable mouse mat (mine was £10 from play, & would recomend it to anyone) then stick it to a board, maybe 6mm ply or mdf, or at a pinch, glue it to the cover of an A4 size hardback book Ie, the size of a hayes manual or a comic "anuall" if you know what i mean ? Happy

hmmm, gonna have to experiment with different surfaces over the weekend. can't for the life of
me get a decent smooth panning action. it seems very "jerky" when looking side to side. i've tried
changing the firmware from stock to v2.2 then to COD MW v1.22.... still the same regardless so
i think it's down to the surface of the pad / book etc that i'm using.

might cut up an old cotton shirt and try that on top of the chopping board (which is about the right
size for me!).

i would have thought a cheapi mouse mat would be better, iirc, tesco do a blue one for about a quid, & the bottom is that rubberised foam stuff, so it should grip the chopping board better Happy

what sensetivity are you using ? on the FragFX i use setting 5 on the dial, on the fragNstein i think it's abutton, but you can still set it on the fly.

re= jerky movement, i had that on resistance fall of man, but not on Modern Warfare or unreal 3, only really effected high zoom on the sniper rifle, & tbh just assumed it was the game rather than the controller.

i set the controller up as recommended on the Bannco site.... set the speed setting to max, start a game
and press the "F" button and use the scroll wheel to stop the game spinning. you then hold down F and
click the scroll wheel +11 clicks, then change the game speed to 4 (high). this is using the dedicated MW2
firmware. might have to mess about a bit to get things right. trouble is, as soon as i start MW2 i want to
play online Grinning

miles, apologies for not accepting your invite... i was (as you could probably tell) messing about with
the fragnstein to try and get optimal settings. still struggling with "notchy" panning shots.

i did try and join one of your games but it must've been full by the time i'd accepted.

had a game on "overpass" and scored a respectable 13 kills 5 deaths using the fns.

still need more practice with it though... trying to find the most comfortable seating position
on the sofa!

No worries mate. I figured when I saw you in that game alone that you'd be practising Grinning
Another friend of mine invited me to his game so took that opportunity instead of being your target practice.

You'll note I didn't shoot you either time I saw you Winking

hmmm, might be able to use my current one to a satisfactory level by then, meaning you'll have to
go thru' the learning curve that i have. saying that, you mentioned that you use a monitor for your
PS3? does that mean you're using a desk?

i will give you warning though miles, changing from config mode to program mode on the dongle
is a bit of pain... just make sure you download the driver and config tool from bannco before
you attempt to modify / change the firmware.
you have to either press the dongle button as you insert it into your pc's usb port for one option, and press
it after for another option.

one thing i definitely cannot get to work is the mouse mat surface test... no matter how many times i try
it will not register a reading even though the mouse is working fine. Confused

*edit* just bought a pair of these caps4stix... they're little rubberised caps that go onto the top of the
PS3 analogue sticks. for £1.95 they're worth a punt after noticing someone using them on one of the
fns video's on youtube.
