Wow I need something like that as rubbish with controller!
Do u just plug it in and use it straight away or do u need to set each game up so that u can use it with it?

works fine right out of the box, they are optomised for MW1/2, but for games with other types of controll setups, you can plug it into the pc & program the buttons however you want, tho, chances of you needing to do this are very slim given that most games have multiple controller configurations to suit most players.

Watched the video of someone using it and figured it looks like PC gaming controls (which I'm pretty used to with the HL2 action)...so I reckon I'll get the hang of it. Winking

it's very like a pc crossed with a console crossed with a Wii, sounds complicated, but it's really very very intuative, the nunchuck/mouse combo works brilliantly, & would also be very good for most pc games, when i get the fragnstein i'm looking foreward to trying it with crysis Happy

I've never played FPS on the PC so it always seems to me that it would be really awkward with mouse keyboard etc.

It's obviously not, as I know it's the main option for most people, but just didn't think it would make "that" much of a difference to be spending extra £70 on.

I kind of want one now, just because everyone else has them though Grinning

i promise you, it does, especialy if your as bad as i am with a standard console controller.

to be spending extra £70 on

two sides to this, firstly, if you love your FPS games, & have quite a few titles, then it's seriously worth considering, for instance, if you have 10 FPS games that you play regularly, then the controller @ 1.5x the cost of a new game (at retail) suddenly looks like a worthwhile investment, But, on the second point, if your perfectly happy with the dualshock, & especialy if you never played FPS on a pc, then it might not be worth the outlay in case you cant "get along" with the different controll type.

from my perspective, the spltfish is the best thing i've ever bought for a console as it lets me enjoy the games i like on a console, so no more having to check my pc spec to see if it can run XX game etc,

on a side note, beware if your looking for Splitfish/FragNstein reviews esp on youtube, as splitfish are sniping at the FragNstein & the 1st review that comes up for the FragNstein has been made by a guy that works & product tests the Splitfish stuff, so none of the comments can be trusted, if you wanna see "better" more balanced reviews, look on Amazon usa, as these have at least been left by people who have actually bought them..

I think that's definitely the side I fall into, quite happy with it on controller as never played the games on PC.

The only FPS I play is MW2. Can't remember the last one I played and stuck with outside MW2, probably XIII on the old Xbox and before that Goldeneye Grinning

i've had my fragnstein turn up today... the 1st one i ordered, i didn't realise that it had to come
from hong kong. so found a uk supplier who has shipped to me within 2 days (yeah, impatient
i know!).

will try and give it a blast tonight.

when the other turns up, i might offer it on here first before sticking it back on ebay.

Ste - you talking about that "gadgets" seller?
I'm a bit annoyed about that as well. Listing as a UK seller (with pick-up option) - but then saying it's shipping from HK! So approx 9 days turnaround (if you're lucky).

yeah Miles... that's the one. should've read the small print but was too excitedGrinning

anyways, the other one has turned up and have just uprgaded the firmware from default (1.1)
upto 2.1. i'm gonna see if her indoors will give me 20 minutes to see if it's any good.

first impressions are that is seems quite well built... all of the documentation (website is better
though) is written in pretty good english so at least you don't feel like you're ****ing in the wind
when you have to upgrade the fw!!

I'm blaming you for not reading the small print then! Grinning
Should have looked before I leapt, instead of assuming you'd read the full details! Winking

So....have you managed to try it out? If so, how was it?
I'd imagine it'll take a bit of getting used to at first.
