Ah got to love Ubisoft, pushing the envelope even more. According to Guru3D on Anno 2070 they limit it to installation on three machines, using a scoring system a bit like the one Microsoft uses for Windows to determine if you need to activate it again.
Thing is, you get three activations and then no more, ever, apparently. So upgrade your PC a few times and you can't play it anymore.

People should completely boycoyy Ubisoft.
What was the similar thing a couple of years back and the publisher soon said they would not use the particular thing/DRM they'd done again?
It doesn't stop things, it just forces people to look for ways of circumventing the DRM and then they'll probably then discover they could have got the game from similar sources and not even bother again in the future..

For a company that continues to push the "how far can we go with DRM?" boat out, they don't appear to have been bitten by it yet. ![]()

Developer of The Witcher 2 says DRM is pointless, doesn't stop piracy, and degrades the user experience:

Apparently they released the game on GOG.com without any DRM, and as far as they can tell nobody distributed it via torrents/etc at all.
