Just saw this movie and it is exactly what i thought/hoped it would be, a real 80's throwback, ok so the guys have aged , the one liners cheesy and the action old school but hey thats what we want sometimes Happy. Seeing Jet Li V Dolph, Stone Cold V Stallone , and even for a brief scene, Arnie , Bruce and Stallone together brought a smile to my face, even the line from Bruce, whats his problem, Stallones reply, he wants to be President Happy. Love it

Have you seen the A - Team? If so how did it compare?

we saw A team at weekend, and loved it, for the pure stupid cartoon action violent nonsense it inherited from the tv show, so think we'll enjoy Expendables for same reason Happy

I enjoyed it probably more because of the cast, I mean it was overblown as arnie and bruce are in it for 3 or 4 minutes tops but its still 80's retro at its finest, again Stallone shows he can still bring out a movie the public do want to see after Rambo and Rocky, he can still feel the publics pulse and tap into it. Eric Roberts was actually good in it and that takes some doing lol. The set pieces were awsome, everything that could be blown up was, the set on the pier was a fantastic action movie moment, well planned and totally over the top, sad was when Sly was with the female lead it was more father and daughter now than leading man and love interest,,,,hey ho Happy

That was one hell of a dumb action film Happy

We preferred the A-Team, as, as strange as it may seem, it had more of a story, and was less of an excuse to string together some action sequences.

Saying that, the action sequences were cool, but the hand to hand fights were a bit too fast so couldn't see what was happening. But I guess if they slowed them down, I'd moan about that Winking

As you say, it did what it said on the tin, nothing more, nothing less. Like 80s action hereos, Statham won't be winning any awards for his acting, but he's pretty nifty with a knife, gun, fists etc Happy

Just seen it tonight and loved it.

If it moves shoot it
If it doesn't move blow it up.
and just stop doing both long enough to chuck in a few classic one liners.
Oscar nomination count probably zero but it does what it says on the tin.

It was Jason Statham on the Basketball court with a knife.
We were playing Cluedo weren't we.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was.
Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's 'it' seems weird and scary
