An interesting article here by Roger Ebert listing ten reasons why he hates 3D. Hard to disagree with most of them to be honest although some are stretching it a bit in my opinion.

Anyone who invests in a 3D telly needs their head examining
It may be re-invented technology but seeming as our vision is 3D anyway nothing new
Now I could understand if we only see in 2D
I can see the appeal of 3D TV, maybe not for everything, but early adopting with such a technology seems foolish unless you can afford a new one every year.
And where is this 3D TV without the glasses we keep getting promised every year!

Aren't I right in thinking that Roger Ebert can only eat through a tube now?

Hmmm, just read an article on Avatar whoring which mentioned Toshiba are releasing 3 3D tv's where you don't need to wear glasses before the year's end.
In fairess that is exactly what would make me watch 3D films at home and see a benefit, as putting glasses on just seems a pain in the arse.
I think it's a bit like HD, it's good idea but you don't really think you need it, but once you've started watching HD stuff all the time you really struggle to watch standard definition stuff.
Saying that, I'm guessing a screen without glasses will be ****e :s
