anyone know if this is a remake of the Swedish movie (in english) or a dub of the original, i suspect it's a dub, in which case, it would explain why they don't show any of the actors talking in the trailer...... which imo is a bit of a con
if it's just a dub of the original, i'll watch it in the native language with subs (hate dubbed movies) i'd be extremely ****ed of if i went to the cinema, paid my £7, only to be confronted with a crappy dubbed piece of ****...

saw a trailer for it when we saw Micmacs at the weekend at our local Picture House, never noticed anything odd apart from as the trailer started, I assumed it was going to be a trailer for a parody of action films as the voice over guy seemed even more OTT and gruff than normal!
I haven't read the books but it did look like a very exciting action film, like Bourne with a girl ![]()
from picture house website looks to be last year's Swedish film
jut found a flier for cinema and there it clearly says:
Swedish with English subtitles
Maybe Odeon etc will show it dubbed, but my Picture House will show it properly for snobs like us ![]()
Saying that, the projectionist balls up the beginning of Micmacs
for the first 5 mins the subtitles were barely readable as only the top half f the text was visible, they then realised and moved the projector, which then meant we missed the top of the film ![]()
I think when they show Studio Ghibli films they show some performances dubbed, and some subtitled. My sister in law saw Ponyo the other week and said although usually she prefers subtitles with some films it seems a shame as you're missing a lot of the visuals.
Micmacs was a bit like that, he goes to so much effort by reading the text you're missing out on bits ![]()
