Harmless

Child's Play 3 was never banned. The distributors, Universal, withdrew the video release when the media said it inspired the killing of James Bulger which is bullshit. The killers hadn't even seen it! They also withdrew Child's Play 2 even though it did not attract any controversey.
The BBFC have recently classified Widescreen versions of both of these so it looks as though Universal are going to re-issue them.

According to What DVD magazine Child's Play is listed as being released Region 2 on the 11th June (Monday). There is no review so I'm not 100% certain it's the same film, although I don't know of any with the same name.

The Aussie version is coded for R2 as well as R4, so it'll more than likely be the same disc.

Shame it's non-anamorphic, though. (Mind you that's still better than the R1, which was P&S!)

This DVD has still not been released on Region 2 in the UK.
With 'Seed of Chucky' coming out soon, will we finally see a re-release of this classic horror film?

Child's Play 3 was one of the top video rental of that time, when The Sun in their usual pathetic way, linked it to the Bulger murder, and called for all video nasties, including Child's Play 3 to be banned.

None of the Child's Play films was ever banned.
