There's some complete muppets around if anyone tries to buy that one.

I too made the mistake of waiting and not pre-ordering. We're buying ahouse so wer going to make it the first treat once we moved in as we couldn't afford it until after we moved in (what with solictor and surveyor fees to pay at the moment).

Sigh.

I only wanted it cos it was cheaper than buying the sets separately. And all those skanky people who prob bought 100's of them will make a fortune out of it.

Isn't capitalism great?

I didn't buy it early because i was in two minds about which region to get and wanted to see what came out in R1m, which has more extras.

I also wasn't that sure about how resellable it is!?

I bought the ET collector's edition when it came out, not as an investment, but because at the time it seemed like the only way to get both versions of the film. When they changed the R2 set to include the original, I decided to keep the CE anyway and sell it on, but it still hasn't sold out anywhere.

Am bumping this thread.

Choicesdirect are taking preorders for a new version of this boxset for £179.99. They claim it is an exclusive to them (and so far i can't find it any other store). It is due for release on 23 May 2005.

It has black packaging but otherwise seems the same as the red version that sold out quickly. Not as cheap as before but still quite a nice looking set.

Now to decide if i can spare 180 for one.

Look at the dimensions though.

The 'proper' box set was nearly twice as tall as long and stores the discs in fairly slim plastic holders.

This one must have paper sleeves inside.

B*ll*cks to Firefly, that's a show right there.

Hi folks,

I've only just discovered the boxset exists and I'm starting to drool with excitement Tongue

Can anyone tell me how much (if any) extra 'extras' is on it compared to the individually released box sets?

I really can't afford to fork out at the mo', but the thought of missing out on some cool extras is making me think about using my never-touched credit card.

I got all excited for a minute there, I checked on DVD price check for it and they had it listed for £134.99 - but when I clicked the link to check it out, its a link to the withdrawn boxset! Sad

Now, how do I justify spending £180 I haven't got on a DVD boxset??? Confused
