Help identifying a sci-fi film please...

A relative has asked me for help, and I can't think what this film is, so thought I'd throw it out there for everyone...

It was on TV a few years ago and the plot is a little something like this:-

It was about some people who had written a computer program that created a virtual world. They could go into the virtual world (and have a bit of fun). But it ended up that in fact they were actually in a virtual world themselves.

Anyone got any ideas?

T'was indeed the Thirteenth Floor. Starring Craig Bierko (who played Lister in the short lived US version of Red Dwarf). It's biggest downfall was that it was released to be in direct competition with The matrix, so of course, it never stood a chance

Which is a shame, as it's a bloody decent flick (ending was a bit obvious tho)
