It does look rather fantastic, but 5 months to wait is rough.

Does look good! Shame the original Spartacus isn't in it. Sad

I swear I saw a few people who should be dead. Shocked

Will definately be watching that, enjoyed the last 2.

I suspect they were flash backs if you saw characters that should be dead, possibly to ease the transition to the new actor.

Tried watching it but way too gory for my liking. If it were more like Gladiator I would be all over it but this is just gore for the sake of gore half the time. It's almost like they are pandering to the Saw-brigade trying to up the shock levels more and more.

I did read though that the original Spartacus bloke from the first series has been diagnosed with cancer and was too ill to appear in the Gods of the Arena prequel and was still ill for Vengeance so has been re-cast.

Yes, very sad. I think they did the prequel to hopefully give him enough time to get treatment and recover for the second season.

Yeah they decided to flesh out what was going to be a flashback episode into a full mini-series prequel and he was actually given a clean bill of health in June last year, but then unfortunately in September they announced that it had come back and he had to quit.

I'm just catching up with Gods Of The Arena.
4 episodes in so far.

Had to pause it whilst watching on my morning commute, had a few people standing over me looking at the screen...with the orgy scene from episode 4 Grinning
It's like watching pr0n some times!

Great first episode, set the series up nicely! The new Spartacus is doing a good job at filling some big shoes.

Nice touch at the end.
