...is it just me becoming slowly unimpressed with this? Appreciate I'm not really in the demographic aimed for and they're clearly struggling with the format and timing, but does it really need all four of them?
Some of this is funny but I don't think it works when they're busy trying to squeeze in 'serious' interviews/discussions and I just can't work out where Laverne fits in at all, it seems as if they're struggling to justify her presence judging by the completely different things they're making her do.

I'm of the same opinion.
Laverne is a token insert of no value.
But the biggest gripe I have is the audience/target audience.
Brooker is 39 this year.
Mitchell is 37 this year.
Carr is 39.
So why does the audience appear to be made up of students/20-somethings?
Brooker's 'snipe' last week was at youth-culture TV, like 'The Word' etc.
The people sitting behind him were the sort of people he was slagging off!
And Carr's biggest laugh was when he said the word "C***".
I'm just confused by it now, I really don't think I'll bother this week.

I really like it, seems a bit more polished now.

I recorded the 10 o'clock show last night, and FF to Brooker's bit.
It was good, if a little stumbly.
And there's still all those annoying young people in the background.
Yes, I do watch Brooker's BBC show, it's brilliant.

Kebabhead, we've been discussing Brooker's show on the Brooker thread ![]()
The jokes each week about Brooker's hair are good, but the highlight for me in last night's show, was Jimmy Carr's comment about criminals having the right to vote, right at the end of the show.
SPOILER:
"Some of these prisoners are pedophiles, and if they have to go to a primary school to vote, there is an issue with that."
Well the series is over, I'm going to miss it. I find all four of them funny and they work well together.
Hope it gets a return to our screens, so little decent satire on the TV these days, even HIGNIFY isn't anywhere near the heights it used to be.

yeh, we enjoyed it, especially Jimmy Carr dressing up ![]()
The only bit we thought didn't work was when 3 guests would have a discussion but would just talk over the top of each other, sometimes becoming a bit pantomime, but that was probably because each segment only had a few minutes so there wasn't enough time for anyone to make their point clearly and have a proper discussion.
I'd welcome the four of them returning to work together in another format.
But not in the same studenty 'right on' format of the 10 o'clock show.
Looking at the studio audience just made me want to go postal.
