Sorry but I've watched that several times now and although he does what every other player in the Premiership does, which is throw his arms up on the way down, making the most of it, as they love to call it.
He had every expectation of winning the ball, he was past the player before the tackle came in so how did he know the foot was there if there was no contact.
Have another look. The fall doesn't start until the contact.

Anyway. Pen, 2.1. Thanks and move on.
No doubt we'll get a few iffy ones the other way before the season ends.

Agree to disagree I guess.

Anyway, nice win tonight, good goals, great team performance, easy win.

And even nice to see Eduardo get a goal too.

Just finished watching it.
Sky plussed and managed to stay ignorant of the result.
I'm thinking of adopting Wilshere, that lad is seriously good.
His goal was a thing of beauty.
...and Chamakh.... Am I onside, yeah, okay, dink.

As the commentator said I doubt any goal by an away side ever got a bigger cheer.

We can now afford to rest a few for the remaining matches and still qualify.
I don't thin Shi**y are going to be as easy as that though.

The Man City game was good, a nice mix of goals. Djourou was awful though, made so many bad decisions.

Fabianski is still looking like the best goalkeeper in the world. If he keeps this up till January I can see Wenger not buying anyone, and selling Almunia on.

Maybe he was a great keeper in the making and just needed the confidence boost that saving the penalty a few weeks back gave him? Or maybe it's just a good run!

As enjoyable as the win was it was even more so for the baying of the Citeh fans at every Arsenal tackle.
What did they expect after at least three assasination attempts on Fabregas. I was pleased to see we actually gave a bit back for a change.

Djourou improved in the second half with one brilliant tackle on Adepaymore and on at least one occasion in the first half why was he in having to track Tevez out on the wing? Where the f**k had Clichy gone.
I think he'll improve but he certainly isn't the fastest thing on the pitch I think Gunnersaurus would give him a head start.

Flappy is doing well and agreed he made at least three fantastic saves but that's not the part of his game that worries me. Lets see how he copes with Stokes De Lap throws or a bunch of big ugly tw*ts trying to stamp all over him at corners. I'd like to see a few more elbows and knees flying about and even a bit of finger wagging from a ref or two as he stands up for himself.
Somebody give his mobile number to Lehman.

I the absence of an official Newcastle 10/11 thread I'll just post this here... to take points from any of the 'top four' teams or get points in London is always a nice surprise for me!  Although the points weren't as nice as the 3 we took last week! Grinning

It was a good win, Newcastle defended very well, and didn't rely on the long ball game. Arsenal were awful, even Fabregas was pretty poor.

Going to be interesting to see if this shatters Fabianski's confidence or whether he can just shake it off can carry on being solid. I don't think it was all his fault, he shouldn't have come out if he couldn't reach it, but then Chamakh totally lost Carroll during the set piece. I make that a 50/50 blame game.

(you could create a Newcastle thread if you like, I'll sticky it unless you do a Paull and give it such a stupid name that I won't Winking)

Well done Newcastle and done without Barton trying to kick lumps out of people (Eastmond and Fabregas) but putting in some good cross field passes.
If they'd actually had someone supporting when the cross arrived they could have embarrassed us even more.

Our lot completely flat. I hope Flappy doesn't get too much flak over the cock up as the only difference between his mistake and the rest of the teams is he's in goal. On that basis he probably played better than most of the others.
Wolves on Wednesday so not long to wait to hopefully put things right and then Everton which I'm thinking of going to but I'll have to sit with the enemy if I do.

Heh I'd really struggle to not be excited when Arsenal scored. Have you done this before? Does it feel pressured?

I'm not sure he had a whole lot to do, when it comes to using your feet Newcastle seemed to be aiming for the clock.
