F1 will not be shown in HD in 2010?! The pinnacle of technology set to use SD coverage this season is a joke, in the same year we are already able to watch live coverage of sports in 3D!

Is that the time? Damn you PSWii60!!!!

I'm sure Ecclestone said that this season would be in HD. Obviously Bernie thought it was too expensive, which is a joke for a multi million dollar sport which is at the forefront of automotive technology. Quote:
We will not be able to provide F1 coverage in high definition this year. The BBC relies on Formula 1 Management (FOM) for the provision of all of its live pictures and as such the broadcasting of high definition pictures is dependent upon whether FOM uses HD cameras or not.

Just read it on the final testing update screen, still not the end of the world, counting the days unit the first race, absolutely loved last years season.
Who's your favourite for this years driver championship?
For me I'd like the top 3 to made up of
1. Lewis
2. Rubens
3. Mark Webber.
With Schumacher sat somwhere near the bottom, always hated him, arrogant bastard, comes across as the sort of bloke that w***s off while looking at himself in the mirror.
His (and several others) attitude was why I stopped watching F1 while everyone worshiped him just because he was winning races. Just got back into it middle of 2008 season.
Just read this on BBC text site :
Quote:
Saying that though, the chat in the paddock is that Ferrari, Red Bull and McLaren are ahead of the rest, with Michael Schumacher's Mercedes team just behind.
Looks like he owns the team now, god I hate the bloke
All the best
Gerald.

If I had to take a punt, I'd go for Alonso closely followed by Hamilton. I'd like Schumi to pick up a couple of wins and stay on next season to retire with 100 race victories, it's not going to happen, but I'd still like to see it.

The no HD thing is an absolute farce. It would look glorious in HD and the pit girls even better!
Regarding Schumacher I have to agree with Gerald. I really dislike the bloke for his arrogance and I too stopped watching F1 when he was winning everything. This arrogance though is something which I feel that Lewis Hamilton has now inherited which is now starting to irritate me aswell. Therefore, whilst I should support him "because he is British", I can't help but hope he fails miserably. The first half of last season was great watching him fail and get really annoyed. I also enjoyed watching his father (who seems to think he owns McClaren) be knocked down a peg or too when his invincible son was proven to be just another driver.
As for Button I think its clear to everyone that Hamilton is the number 1 driver this year. I like Button and am disappointed he has gone to McClaren to assist Hamilton.
For me thought I think the title will go to Alonso. He will have the hunger to beat Hamilton and, from the sounds of it, the car capable of it also. I just wish I could see it in bl00dy HD!!!!!
I too have a strong feeling that Alonzo will be up there but suspect old Vettel will grab it!
Guess at mo for end of yea standings (Alcohol induced):
Vettel
Alonzo
Button
Shumacher
Hamilton
Massa
Webber
There are a few new guys too but will have lok more into it.

I think we are on the verge of one of the most exiting F1 seasons ever. Shoemaker as a driver I dislike, I also think a couple (at least) of his championships were the 'dodgiest' ever. However I like him as a person & will stop & watch any programme he is on. So long as there is no bias shown to Ferrari or it's drivers & negative points to other drivers for no good reason, this season has 'great' written all over it. May the best man win, whoever he races for.
As much as I am pleased the season has started and Felipe got a podium the whole race was nothing short of a snooze fest.
Only overtaking of any note was at the first corner or when Sebs exhaust blew. Other than that a waste of two hours of every viewers lives .
Still at least Schumi finished ahead off Button
Lets hope the next race is a bit better and at least a bit exciting

Great result but a poor race. Until we get away from the Tilke designed aboninations and onto real circuits, it's going to be hard to tell. Even team bosses are saying they need to put on a better show, possibly making two tyre changes compulsory and to have borderline tyres as far as durability go ie really soft.
On a different note, don't you think Martin Brundle wants to correct Legard with a cricket bat occasionally? You're not on the radio now ffs (be better if he was
)
Forza Ferrari, Felipe & Fernando !!
