Well they've finally gone.

It was a long, painful death but the Administrators finally arrived and did the humane thing by pulling the plug. They leave behind a grieving family of 1.2 million subscribers and 400 staff who have shed tears Sad

The gravestone will read "They weren't big and they definetly weren't smart!"

I think it will be interesting to see how ESPN now decide to go about tackling this particular market.

Will they decide to stick Disney's cash on the line in a straight up cheque book battle with the cash rich SkySports???

Again, the experts are saying they should go wholesale.
Avoid direct subscriptions at all costs.

Competent

ESPN are now added to the news package bundle on Sky. Onyl £1 per month extra as opposed to the £12.99 Setanta were charging. I'm a happy baseball fan! Grinning

Wonder what the odds are that ESPN suddenly vanish from the news package and become £6-£8 per month ?.

Bizarre. They used to give the Racing Channel (or a racing one..) 'free' with Setanta. Which my brother watched a lot of.. Now they've gone, the Racing Channel is on its own again and pricing is £20/month. Confused

I'm going to miss the boxing coverage. With ITV pulling out at the end of the year and the BBC not interested, that only leaves Sky covering British boxing and monopolies are never healthy things.
