Your First Choice Eleven??

With Sol Cambell out of form, Ashley Cole not even playing yet, the debate about if its best to play Gerrard and Lampard in the same team, 4-4-2 or 4-1-2-1-2, its harder than you think to pick the best eleven right now, so who would make yours??

Not sure that Wright-Phillips can play on the left as well as he does on the right? and Gerrard doesnt really play 'in the hole'............interesting though!

Highlights I think how difficult it is pick at the moment!

I think Lampard and Gerrard are the same type of player, and I would only play one of them. Problem is, which one, and who else to put in the middle?

Time for a mid 1990s flashback with a 3-2-3-2 "attacking wing backs" formation. Our strengths are at centre back, so we make Ferdinand into an old school Italian style sweeper to beef up the attack minded midfield.

Robinson

Carragher Ferdinand Terry

Neville Bridge

Gerrard Lampard Cole

Owen Rooney

No Beckham, as apart from his free kicks (Gerrard & Lampard can do those) he doesn't deserve to be picked nowadays.

He's still up to it, can cross a ball and has the defensive qualities. Any other choices don't have enough experience yet.

Mostly Harmless

Beckham is a has been, his wonder show against Greece (me thinks) to reach the last finals was his one and only truly good performance.

Squad player for Becks only.

Sven has a difficult decision to make in midfield where we are truly blessed with the likes of Lampard and Gerrard, but can they play together ?

Theres other players also performing well are Jenas and Parker, Carrick, even Danny Murphy should be mentioned.

Shame Shearer has retired.

My team
goalie - Robinson sub- James
defence - Neville, Terry, Ferdinand, Cole subs - King, Carragher
midfield - Becks, Lampard, Gerrad, Cole - subs Wright-Phillips, Parker, Carrick
up front - Rooney, Owen subs Defoe, Crouch

something like that although subs wont be as many also reckon a few other players such as Bridge, Beattie could get a chance depending on the team we are playing. Could try and convert Giggs to an England shiirt Grinning
