dvd pacific---order problem

Hi there All,

Some help/ advise is needed here.
Recently my order was despatched with a priority airmail option that should take under 10 days. The value of the order is £12.

A similair order sent with in a few days, like many previous orders arrived in a timely manor.

DVD pacific expect me to believe that the item is not 'lost' untill december 15Th. Call it 6 weeks in total. WouId you call that priority air mail, that I paid for? I use a private po box that has never been a problem before.

thanks
Jemma

The only thing to do is wait until December 15th and if it hasn't turned up, then the likelihood is that it's been stolen by a 'seasonal' temp somewhere along the way. I've never had a package go missing from DVD Pacific, so I don't know what their policy is but I guess they'll replace it for free.

Hi there David,

I hadn't thought of what you are saying about a light fingered temp. Plausable though.

I'd be interested to know any ones experience as to if DVD pacific might give me a credit to cover the delivery charge. The delivery option that I paid for was about 10 days
After all, a refund of the missing item is hardly unreasonable.

thanks
Jemma

If you wait until Dec 15th they'll give you your money back (incl postage) or resend your order.

Before that date they'll do nothing. The 10 days is not guaranteed just an average. I've had DVD Pacific packages take a month and at this time of year they will take longer than normal. It could be in one of the many crates at Mt. Unpleasant waiting for Customs clearance.

Harmless

I'm a US customer of DVD Pacific. I placed my first ever order with them on Dec. 1 this year. They responded via email that all was in stock ($90US order) and that it was shipped to me on Dec. 4, Priority Mail (2-3 days). When it was a week late, I called DVD Pacific and inquired. They said all the post offices are backed up due to the holidays. I know it isn't true, because I'm receiving parcels from all over the US with no delays. After two weeks with no package, I called DVD Pacific again. They assured me the lost package is "unusual," and is clearly lost. Therefore, on Dec. 15 I placed an identical order, also 2-3 days Priority Mail. They again responded via email that all was in stock (again, $90US) and that it was shipped to me on Dec. 18. It should have arrived no later than today. It did not arrive. So even though you've not had trouble in the past with DVD Pacific, I'm very suspicious of them now. Your packages may take a month to get to you sometimes, but you're in the UK. I'm one day's drive from DVD Pacific. If they can't manage 2-3 day Priority Mail delivery to a destination a few hundred miles away, they shouldn't offer it. If they have lightfingered temps, they must be hiring them from a local prison for me to lose both packages. There's no excuse for this poor service. I used DVD Pacific because they carried the relatively obscure foreign DVD's my son wanted and they were the closest to me and most reasonably priced. Believe me, I will never use them again and will discourage others from doing so. I have filed a challenge with my credit card company, and though I may never have to pay them, I am without a dozen gift items only three days before Christmas. Order from DVD Pacific at your own risk!

I placed an order with these guys in October, and the dvd conveniently went out of stock 2 days after I placed my order. If I do not receive it by Christmas I will cancel.

Not the most accurate stock listings.

I have always found their stock listings to be very accurate. When something shows as low stock is when you need to be careful. Obviously this then means can go out of stock easily as may only be one or two pieces left.

The DVD I ordered was listed as In Stock when I ordered.

I cancelled the order today and will order it from Amazon.com instead who have it for less. Amazon also pack their box sets better so less likely to arrived damaged. Winking
