Have you thought about claiming for replacement glasses on your house insurance?

Well they do not do kids glasses... Back to the search for some kids titanium, as none of the locals do them.

eye2eye - you know, that never occured to me. I was p***ed up in a pub, slipped on a beer spill next to the bar and, since it was busy, the glasses went flying and by the time I got them back they had been trampled by what seemed like a herd of elephants. So I just assumed that you couldnt. The GF has thrown the frames away now (I couldnt bear to part with them), would this make a difference?

Cheers for all the replys, btw!

Just to throw a curve, I dont suppose anyone knows of a deal that involves prescription sunglasses? Ive been meaning to get a pair for ages.....

Tried Boots, the Opticians section? They did have BOGOF, one being sunglasses. Don't know if that deal is still standing though. I got a pair. Winking

Yeah, i went in at the weekend. The BOGOFF has been replaced by 'save 25% on selected crappy frames that nobody wants' Sad

It shouldn't make a difference. It depends on what your policy says. I work in an optician's and we have people claim on their home insurance for all sorts of damage/theft in all sorts of locations. It's worth a try.
