Help needed to reinstall a game on new pc

My son's pc went kaput - the hard disk failed.

He had passed his exams and we treated him to new pc.

He has tried to install some games on the new pc but one, so far, (LOTR Battle for Middle Earth 2) will not let him because it says the CD key has already been used. Of course it has, by him, when he got the game new and installed on his old pc.

Has anyone a workaround for this?

Cheers Tongue

Don't EA have some web site thing you can log in to to see your registered games and log a call to sort it out? I think some games have a 3 install activation, which can be reset by that method, so hopefully they'll be reasonable?

Well that went well.

My son chatted to a guy at EA on a forum thingy who deleted his old account so he could reinstall.

Happy son.

And less earache for Dad.

Result!
