Hi,
Ok I did this once and cannot remember what you enter in the 'run' box on xp home start button, it stops proggrammes from opening, its something lke rkill?? help please! Thanks
I don't think you can stop any programs by typing anything into the start menu. If you are trying to kill a process that is already running, try CTRL-ALT-ESC to bring up the task manager, then click the Processes tab, highlight the rogue process (make sure you know which one it is) and then End Process.

If you mean stopping programmes from starting up on boot, enter msconfig in the run box and select startup, that should show a list of programmes which start at boot.
