Hard drive`s problem.

I have two identical hard drives. Until now I have used them one at a time. Today I wanted to take files from one & transfer to another, but the computer only recognises one at a time. The second one plugged in does not come up. Any ideas as to how to make the second one visible.

PS. It does not matter which HD is plugged in first it always gets recognised & the second one doesn't.

In Disk Management it says the second disk is off line as it has a signature collision with another disk that is online.

In disk management where it says its offline, is there a little blue exclamation mark you can click?

Thanks. A nice Spanish man on You Tube beat you to it. I can't understand why it is 1.  either automatic or 2 you are advised to do that. I did follow the help but there was nothing directly the same as my problem.

Because Microsoft live in a strange reality bubble where things like that are a good idea.

Along with hiding more than one partition on a removable HDD so if you partition a flash card the second one onwards is invisible.
