iOS5 is released...but I can`t update

Tonight I thought "to hell with waiting, let's try the brand new iOS5 update".

Four attempts and multiple error codes later and I'm still on 4.3.5 (thankfully with all data intact, as far as I can tell).

I'm normally an advocate of iTunes, but today I hate the f@cking thing.

I'm not alone:

Although I was also getting "-5000" errors (as well as the "3200" one!)

Maybe you should buy an iPhone 4S...

...not that it could in any way be a marketing ploy to get hundreds of not-as-tech-savvy as you people to buy said new phone Winking

I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was.
Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's 'it' seems weird and scary

Feels really fast, an improvement on before where sometimes when installing apps the thing slowed down and became a bit unresponsive. Also I was never able to update Rage HD despite apparently having 2.2GB of free space, after upgrading it let me update it finally.

One minor snag, all my music and video has gone AGAIN. This happened on an update to 4.2 when that came out, just going to try the fix for it that I posted last time. Which was:

1) Connect your iphone to your computer and launch iTunes
2) Go to your phone on devices and select the music section
3) Double click any music track to start playing it on your computer
4) Click the Sync button

...nope that didn't fix it. Sad The music is definitely there, I can browse it from iTunes on the phone and play it. Just the phone shows it being blank, grrrr.

Copying another track made it worse. Sad It now shows I have one track (the one I copied) yet I still only have 2.2GB free so my music is definitely still on there.

It's like I now have two libraries on it, the one iTunes sees and the one the iPhone sees.

Heard some horror stories about this wiping music, apps, and contacts on the iPhone 4. Were you able to get everything back easily, Rob?

I'm scared to update in case it wipes out everything and corrupts my iTunes backup!
