Small upgrade from the iPhone 4 as some sites rumoured a while ago.

Very much a 'meh' from me. I was expecting a little more given it's been 15 months since the last update.
I won't be upgrading mine for now.
I'm glad I didn't wait around when I thought it would be out in June this year and went with the Samsung Galaxy S2 at half the price I would have had to pay for an iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s now.
Price points are mental though.
8gb iPhone 4 £429
16gb iPhone 4s £499.

I'm swithering as to whether to keep pushing O2 for an iPhone 4 upgrade.
Currently on a 3Gs 16gb on a stupid contract that was ok at the time.
I've been offered 900 xnet mins, 5000 text and iPhone 4 at £22 pm but no data (btw, wtf is the point of a smartphone contract with no data?!?!?!) and the option to do the 500 (or is it 750?) Mb bolt on for £7,50 pm but that makes it a £29 pm contract in my eyes.
Any opinions?

Miles I mean the difference in price points. The difference to get the new iPhone 4s with double the size memory hardly it would be mad to get an iPhone 4 really.
Plus I'm sure the majority of general public would see those prices and just think that the 4s is a minor upgrade, given there's little difference in the prices.
I know the 3gs and 4 were priced at similar points, but they were asthetically different so people not in know knew why they were getting their shiny new one, the 4 and 4s it won't be as obvious.

In fairness for an iPhone contract that's a hell of deal as I never know anyone paying under 35quid and having to pay for the phones aswell.
Assuming that's an o2 upgrade deal only?
I don't recall ever seeing the 3gs with a decent amount of mins for that kind of price (well when the iPhone 4 had not long come out anyway).
The deals were pathetic this time last year for the 3gs but I'm assuming it was also as Apple cut down the stock as it was a "discontinued model" even though it officially wasn't.
Haven't looked recently but best you would do with Samsung Galaxy s2, probably main competitor with iPhone 4 would be about the same and the winning factor for me in between the two was the massive difference in price.

Assuming that's an o2 upgrade deal only?It was an o2 retention deal, I've been with them since it was Cellnet back in the 80's.
Matter of fact this sim card has had to be changed twice because the card the number originally came on was a full size sim in my Motorola 5200 Traveller flip phone... AKA the first GSM phone for the UK (there was a range of them but all the same with little tweaks) and I could only use it in about 3 cities at the time!
Anyways, moot point 'cos although I had a PAC code last month I just rung them (my BB is with O2 as well) to see if I could get Data in and be under £25 pcm and got told that the deal I was offered was SIM only.
Even when I said to the guy on the phone (who tried and couldn't be any nicer) about the 1800xnet/unl. text/2gig data for £18 so why would I even consider a SIM only at 900 mins and less data with a 12 month contract (told him it was 24 but no joy) he agreed I would have to be daft to take this rather than the other.
We even ended up agreeing I would be better to take the SIM only CPW deal for six months then go back for a "new" customer deal and by then the iPhone 4s should have dropped in price.
Even worked out that the deal for an iPhone 4 on 900 mins etc with 500mb data was £41 pcm which I kinda laughed at.
Had to ask if he was looking at retention deals or standard customer issue as they were crap.
I could take the CPW deal at 18pcm for as long as I wanted to, put the other £22 pcm into buying a new iPhone and for 24 months equiv I would have a total of £528.
Didn't I see somewhere that a current 16Gb iPhone 4 was £499.......?
[edit] just checked the Apple store and the iPhone 4 is £429 for 8gb, 3GS £329 for 8gb so I guess they aren't doing any larger ones now to push people into the 4S, which is £499 for a 16gb... I'm starting to think the CPW £18 deal and just "buying" an iPhone is a no brainer for the future..... [editoff]
