Website hosting recommendations please...

...specifically multi-domain hosting.

Basically want to host several basic (don't need no fancy stuff) websites and it's cheaper to do it on a multi-hosting account.

I don't need a re-seller account either (at least at the moment) because it'll only be for 2 or 3 small, simple sites to link back to my main website.

Current possibilities:

1&1 also uk2

Thanks for your help. Thelp.

Having dealt with both 1&1 and UK2 (and their shoddy service) I'd recommend neither of them. I've been with these for nearly 5 years http://www.twentyhost.co.uk/ really good pricing, the best service I've come across (and I've dealt with A LOT of hosting companies) and everything you'd need included that with many others you have to pay extra for.

In 5 years I've noticed downtime on about 3 occasions, none of which were considerable.

Exactly the kind of thing I want to know about. Cheers.

How about www.000webhost.com ... they're free!

Well, you can't get much cheaper than free. Always a bit suspicious of free sites though.

My current front runner is probably this bunch http://www.hostpapa.co.uk/

Competent

Have a look at Tsohost - UK based, very reasonable prices and outstanding support. I've used them for over three years and had no complaints whatsoever.

who did you go with in the end?

I may need to look into a new host, I don't need anything fancy.

I've been with web-mania (now yorhost) for years, but today got an email from nominet saying my domain will be suspended as it has not been renewed Sad

I paid yorhost a month or so ago, so have emailed them to ask what's going on, but a quick google suggests this happened to a few ppl Sad

Didn't go with anyone in the end!

Typical me, didn't get round to sorting it all out. On the verge of going with hostpapa though.
