Sony Picture Motion Browser (PMB) - relocating ACVHD recorded home movies

I have to use Sony PMB (installed on my c: drive) to upload my AVCHD format recorded footage from my Sony HDR SR12e handycam. Unfortunately my C: Hard disk is getting very full.

Anyone know best way to transfer the existing footage (and new footage) to an external Hard Drive (in my case Western Digital - 250 GB). I've tried moving/copying the files from c: to external, but am then unable to view them because their extension isn't supported. I'm able to move some of the ones that I've recorded in SD (standard Definition).

I can't find any easy answers. Can anyone help or does anyone have a contact number for Sony Customer Support - ? their online support is a nightmare to navigate around

Cheers

I don't quite understand the question.  I know you HAVE to use the Sony software to get the files (m2ts?) from the camera to the PC if you then want to access them in the HDWriter software that comes with the camera.  (I think they're mts files on the camera itself).  You cannot select/delete any from the folder directly because the 'index' gets its knickers in a twist and won't play ANY of the files then (but are fine in any half decent editing software (Sony Vegas for example).
However, just for moving the whole folder from C to another disc shouldn't cause any issues at all that I can think of..  i.e. copying the data already on your 'c' drive won't change its extension.

EDIT:Sorry, just wrote all of that thinking it was Panasonic - but I imagine the logic won't be too far out?
Could be worth posting here and asking..
