I have no idea about whether its good or not, I just know I would refuse to pay for any phone anymore.

Anyway that aside on the 2 phones thing not sure about then, but recently a mate at work got 2 for him and the OH but they never even considered a discount. I think its cos the yare still selling well.

the really annoying thing is that it has to go back to apple now..

bah. Oh. and the fact that she broke my camera also..

erm, thats very weird, cos it's optical quality glass plate (unlike the touch, & previous ipods that scratched as soon as you looked at them) on the whole i find mine very sturdy, & genuinely hard to mark, in 2 months all i've managed to do is put a small scratch on the apple logo on the back of the phone (stupidly put the phone in my pocket with my car keys,,,, then walked about for ages before realizing) i've also dropped it a couple of times, both times onto concrete (at work) without leaving a mark, or causing damage.

the good stuff on a none jailbroke iphone.

the screen, the web interface, the wifi, the dead easy typing. the best ipod "to date" & amazing video quality.

but you would really need to "open" it which i believe is easy enough, although you'll still be stuck with o2, but you can install third party applications, ranging from ebook readers, books, newsgroup clients/msn messenger, games, emulators etc etc etc etc.... & it lets you add some essentials like proper text handling & picture messaging, which you bizarrely can't do on a "standard" iphone (tho i do expect that to be fixed on the new gen 3g model)

the Bad, worst let down for me, is the speaker volume, it's pathetic, & i miss loads of calls simply because i can't hear the stupid bloody thing ringing & unless you arse around hacking & slashing, cutting & renaming, you can't use your own ringtone & are forced to use the basic ones that ship with the phone. also, the camera is very very basic, especially for a "premium" phone, 2 megapixels, + crapp exposure rate (go in the shop, try a demo model, switch the camera on & start moving around, it's blurr city) in good conditions, you can get a decent photo, but phones priced at less than a quarter of this price beat it to smithereens

i both love & hate mine, if they fixed the glitches it would be, without doubt the best phone on the market, & the i miss a s***load of calls/texts & start cursing it, & threatening to throw it on ebay so i can buy an 8gig Nokia N95 (an awesome phone that has the loudest, best quality speakers on any mobile i ever heard) + the ace 5mega pixel camera.

my honest opinion, i wouldn't have a standard iphone. But, i still have my "opened" iphone, & will probably keep it untill they sort the stupid shortfallings. then i'll consider getting the new one.
