Windows Update Problem

This is a new one on me.
I manually do the updates and today I keep getting this:

Thank you for your interest in Windows Update
Windows Update is the online extension of Windows that helps you get the most out of your computer.
You must be running a Microsoft Windows operating system in order to use Windows Update.

Anyone else having or had this message before?
My WinXP copy is legit, by the way.

Mostly Harmless

Make sure you use Internet Explorer not Mozilla etc when you go to update site.

I am using IE. It might have something to do with Sygate, but I haven't changed the settings since the last Windows Update. Not that I am aware of anyway.

Found it! It was Sygate in stealth mode.
Thanks for help.
