Thought I'd put some album recommendations out there, after just scanning what I've been listening to the last few months through last.fm.
Arcade Fire- The Suburbs (started thread on that so won't say anything else here)
Tracks to check out: We Used To Talk, The Suburbs, Month of May
Phoenix- Wolfgang Amadeus Bit of dancey indie mix, gutted I didn't see them at Glastonbury, but Snoop Dogg was on and I made the judgement that Phoenix would probably be better in a normal gig in the future whereas Snoop Dogg would be awesome on the Pyramid stage (I was right
)
Tracks to check out: 1901, Liztomania, Fences
Broken Bells- Broken Bells It's a side project from the lead singer of The Shins and Dangermouse. Really good album, I liked a few songs at first but couldn't get into the album overall, but after giving it a few tries got really into it.
Track to check out: The High Road, Ghost Inside, Vaporize
Yeasayer- Odd Blood- Broklyn Band that's again got a bit of a dancey feel to some tracks and are a bit hard to get into (actually thinks some people will really be put off by the first track and possibly Ambling Alp on first here) but definately give Ambling Alp a few listens as it's one of those songs that gets stuck in your head.
Tracks to check out: Ambling Alp, O.N.E., Madder Road
Band of Skulls- Baby Darling Doll Face Honey- UK band that sound very similar to White Stripes but are really good, another that I haven't managed to see live yet, but would imagine are very good.
Tracks to check out: Death By Diamonds And Pearls, I Know What I Am, Patterns
The Dead Weather- Sea Of Cowards Worth checking out even if you didn't like the first album, as bit like The Raconteurs who's second album was much better after they've "found their sound." It's a bit dark and grungy but I really like it.
Tracks to check out: Blue Blood Blues, Die By The Drop, Hustle and Cuss
Two Door Cinema Club- Two Door Cinema Club Really they have all the makings of a band I shouldn't really like, but they do have some really good songs. Quite chart friendly, but have seen quite a few people say that they are a band they like but don't know why.
Tracks to check out: Undercover Martyn, Something Good Can Work, I Can Talk
I got quite a few random recommendations for good music on here over the years, so thought may aswell give a bit of plug to some slightly off mainstream bands. ![]()

I'm not very musically adventurous but really enjoying the new Iron Maiden album, The Final Frontier.
I'm currently enjoying the fantastic ZTT remastering of Propaganda's A Secret Wish album...
