Just got back from the Portsmouth concert and boy what a night Grinning

Sweethead didnt really 'get the crowd going' but they were ok. Then the place totally erupted when TCV came on. Seriously it was like a bomb went off with the noise!!!

I have no idea of the set list (my mind is a blur at the mo although they finished with Warsaw) but it was amazing. I was at the barrier so had the most amazing view Grinning

Watching Dave Grohl behind the drums was fantastic! They were all weighted down around the feet and after a few minutes there was no doubt if they hadnt been me and the rest of the front row would of been hit by flying drum bits.............man that guy hits 7 bells out of that kit!! Josh Homme was an excellant front man - offered his bottle of vodka around and all that kind of thing and JPJ just plays giutar (and various 'versions' of guitars) amazingly!!

The joking between the band was fab - at one stage Josh and Dave were chatting away and JPJ was just stood there tapping his watch, shrugging his shoulders at us Grinning Oh and just to sound like a total 15 year old fan girl I got a wink from Homme and a MASSIVE smile and a mouthed 'thank you' from Grohl Grinning

For those who have tickets - be prepared to lose your hearing (Im taking ear plugs to the London shows next week for sure) but also be prepared to see what live music is about Grinning

Back from 2 nights in London.

Im tired, bruised, slightly battered and have a lump on my forehead from hitting my head on the barrier as some idiot crowd surfed but loved every minute Grinning

Made friends with one of the security guards and roadies which meant I got Daves drum stick (well whats left of it amongst the chips and dents he had put in it playing!)

Brilliant time Grinning

James - gutted for you that you were ill when you went Sad but from what I was told last night there maybe more to come Winking

Competent

I was at Hammersmith with my wife on the 17th and we were almost at the barrier. The night was amazing and I came out of it feeling as though I had been in a fight.
I only hope that this isn't just a one off tour because I would love to see them again.

Yeah I'm guessing I'll see them at least once next year, as bound to be playing Glastonbury.

I'm just really, really hoping that Led Zeppelin play. Massive longshot but Robert Plant has confirmed he'll be there (but not in what form), JPJ is going to be there and Jimmy Page has said he's going to be on the road next year. It's the 40th anniversary, plus at the O2 gig 2 years back the banter was that was it for the next couple of years.

Basically it's a massive longshot and highly unlikely but if they are ever going to play Glastonbury it will be this year.

Failing that though I'll be happy with some more Vultures.

At the Blackpool gig, early doors Grohl picked out a young lad about 10years old,(maybe slightly younger) and made security bring him and his dad over the barriers so they could be by them for the gig. Lucky git, although he's probably got a few splinters in his face now!

He did indeed Grinning His name is Ethan and I know his Dad, Stu.

He (Stu) was still on cloud 9 when I met him on Friday in London. Ethan had been given drum sticks etc and slept with them that night bless him. Apparently Grohl was chatting away to him inbetween songs, tried to get him to play JPJ keyboards and was really good making sure they could see everything as they watched. Stu had spoken to security about moving Ethan if it got to rough and was planning to move just a Grohl came down to get him. Night to remember huh!
