well guys gals & fellow MADites, black ops is nearly here, but the new MOH is also here in the next few weeks, & looking at the trailer, i might just have to buy both games 
bloody things are like busses, nowt around for months, then 2 turn up at once lol 
Now, heres the thing thats putting me off a bit, it looks a lot like bad company 2, which although i liked the single player, i couldn't get to liking the multiplayer At all & the new MOH is made by the same people, But looking at the early beta reviews, most people seem to thing it's more a mix of MW2 & BC2, so hopefully one of the supermarkets will be doing one of them cheap on release, then if either of them are bobbins, i won't waste to much lol, hope theres none of this 1 user registration crap like the "extra" content on BC2, which pretty much killed the second hand market for it

If someone showed me that trailer with no logos or pointers to which franchise it was and said "this is a new game, what do you think it is?" I would instantly have said "Bad Company 3?"
I have the MOH beta on my PS3 and tbh, played it twice and it was scheitte.
Absolute pure crap scheitte and couldn't get it going at all.
Both times I played it I gave it about 20 to 30 minutes but couldn't shoot anyone, kept dying (much much more than MW2) and it just didn't seem right... didn't even feel like playing a MOH game tbh.
Black Ops has me a little "concerned" from that POV too but if it's cheap enough (and doesn't have FW 3.42/3.50 on it I might try it.

I had my first crack on MW2 for quite a few months last night. I didn't do too badly...to my surprise!
I felt very rusty to begin with, but soon picked it up again.
I keep getting very tempted to buy the Penguins United "Eagle Eye" though...I'm sure I'd be better with that.

Haven't been online with it since they blocked the DNS workaround.
See, I'm a bit pig headed about these kind of things.... and no, I haven't done any form of jailbreaking to my PS3 etc, hasn't even had a hard drive near it.
In my view if there's something the console needs as an added extra or bug fix then by all means release a firmware update to allow it to do it (like 3D, even if it doesn't work right 
)
However, if there are features which do not require the update to work, then don't force them on the end user.
If MS find an exploit in Windows they don't force the patch, they give you the option to update, so by all means feel free to patch the vulnerabilities and don't give me any extras if I don't update but don't remove items that work just to force me to install the said update.
It's been proven that the new firmware isn't needed for PSN to work (recent DNS workaround that was closed) but Phony force this update on you regardless, and if you don't update then it's the "my ball and I'm going home cos you won't let me win" mentality.
Turning into a rant here but tbh, the PS3 is going from a small computer with all round media and game capability to a very expensive games console only these days.
