laptop region help

Competent

i have a packard bell laptop with a toshiba sd-c2402 1009 dvd rom drive, using software power dvd, downloaded dvd genie but it does not respond to power dvd. i then installed win dvd software and dvd genie responded say i have 4 more tries at changing regions but region 1 i can hear sound and the warning appears but then the screen goes black, please can anyone help

I'm not sure where but you can get a 'crack' for the Win DVD. It is the best & only one that plays SVCDs as well. Perhaps your search engine.
